Speaker of Morocco’s House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, held a series of talks in Rabat on Thursday with the heads of delegations participating in the Forum of Chairpersons of Foreign Affairs Committees of African Parliaments.
The talks provided an opportunity to stress the importance of exchanging experiences and expertise, and of coordination in the various regional and international parliamentary forums, according to a press release from the House of Representatives.
During these talks, the delegations expressed their support to the House of Representatives’ initiative to strengthen parliamentary diplomacy, communication, cooperation and dialogue between parliamentarians within a framework of respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries, the press release added.
Talbi Alami held talks with the President of the National Assembly of the Central African Republic, Simplice Mathieu Sarandj, in the presence of the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Emilie Béatrice Epaye, and the Chairman of the Defense Committee, Jean Sosthène Dengbe.
The Lower House Speaker also met with the Chairwoman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy of the Chamber of Deputies of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Isabel Eraul Ivina.
He also received the Chairwoman of the Defense Committee of the National Assembly of Angola, Ruth Adriano Mendes, and the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, Alcides Sakala Simenos.
